Two times a year we host Middle School Bible Retreats. This is a set a part time for those who are eagerly searching for more. Perhaps that most important part of this time is the emphasis we put on not going if it doesn’t sound like something you want to do. We go away for a weekend, camp, and read a lot of Bible with each other. This time is usually centered around “who the heck was this Jesus guy?” and “what the heck was He about?”
Before each meal time we all split off and read a few chapters from one of the biographies of Jesus. We then gather around the campfire and talk about the stories we just read. We ask questions, express concerns, and share things we found interesting. We’ve read the gospel of Matthew and Mark (two different trips) this way.
